Same problem, different day. Dealer replaced engine wiring harness less than 200 miles
ago! I'm afraid to hook up 35 ft Holiday Rambler 5th wheel. Did 2001 3500 lower it's towing rates?

see 3/06/01

I have the same identical truck as you and it is starting to die after it starts. Mine just died last week, service rep said it was fuel filter. I went out to start my truck yesterday and it stumbled after starting but this time stayed running. I didn't think it was the fuel filter since i only had 4,000 miles on the filter. How long have you had this problem. How does your truck act when it dies, mine starts runs about 5 seconds and then dies with no restart, turns over just fine but will not start. Ron

P. S. I'am away from my computer all day, so I will not be able to respond till tonight.

P. P. S. If anyone is haveing this problem please!!! please!!! post on this thread as there is strength in numbers.

Moving this over to engine area; hopefully you get this straightened out. I know how annoying these problems can be. My best guess would be there's a fuel pressure problem of some kind -- either: lift pump, injection pump, air in lines.
