ok here goes wife was coming home with horse trailer 2weekends ago fill up at unknown source. truck ran fine for 30 miles then died restarted ran 10 miles to truckstop she put in power service. then ran 30 miles then died. truck restarted then drove on home at 40-50 mph. changed filters on fass 150 noticed pump not running right.no codes at that time. rerouted fass relay to wiper circuit truck will run for a while then die sometime while idling sometime while driving. key must be cycled to restart then will run till next time. fuel pressure is steady at 12 on cheap gauge. gauge was not on truck when wife had first problems. truck has 370,000 miles vp44 replaced at 180,000 fass was put on before at 150,000 when stock lift pump exploded. engine is now throwing these codes p0380, p0382, p0215, p1689, p0230, p1693. does the 24v have a fuel shut solenoid? or is it done by the vp44 any help greatly appreciated local dealer not much help thanks craig

P0380 Intake Air Heater #1 Control Circuit
p0382 Intake Air Heater #2 Control Circuit
p0215 Fuel Injection Pump Control Circuit Failure In Fuel Pump Relay Control Circuit
p1689 No Communication Between ECM & Injection Pump Module
p0230 Transfer Pump Circuit Out Of Range
p1693 Generic Fault Indicating A Fault In The Bus Or PCM/ECM Interface

All these codes seem to have something similar going in that they are all circuit related. I would start with the electrical system first. Have batteries and altenator load tested, check all connections at battery terminal to ensure they are tight and corrosion free, follow the grounds from the batts to the frame and make sure they are all tight and corrosion free. These trucks need clean and proper voltage to run so start with the basics first, and go from there.

Check all your fuses, and the main wire harness plugs as well. What ever it is, it's intermittent if the 0215, and 1689 is there and the truck still runs.

thanks for the replies guys. terminals clean to check wiring today. But the plot has gotten richer. the darn thing will die 3 times whenever you drive it then run fine? last time driven the voltage dropped to 12volts. Am I remembering right that it is regulated by the ecm? I'm home for a while (truck driver) and hope to get to the bottom of this thing before I go back out. But with the cold and lack of shop this may take a while. thanks craig

ok sorry it has been so long to get back. I had some family things and was gone with work for awhile. I've checked things out {thanks 1973moparman} and it looks like I'm in the market for an ecm. Who has the best deal and stands behind it? Also what does it cost for a dealer to flash it or are there other options? My son found one on mopar direct for 530 but it has to be flashed no mention of warranty. Another off ebay is 750 already flashed lifetime warranty for extra 100. anyone have an idea? thanks craig
