Also check to see if it is a 53block. The 53 blocks have been known to crack, not all of them do but some, so that is something you may want to take into consideration. If you can, take a fuel pressure gauge with you and hook it up to the schrader valve on the IP, see what your fuel pressure is. If it is low, below 6psi or so, damage to the injection pump may have occured. Other than that, just look at the usual things you would look at when buying a used vehicle. Nothing else really comes to mind.
