Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 99 edge comp on 02?

I know this has been covered and i tried searching but no luck, I have a comp box off a 99 5 speed will it work with either an 01. 5 ho 6 speed or an 02 so 5 speed? I know the map sensor plugs are different but i was also told there was an adapter to make it work? I've been told if i run a constant 5volts to the map sensor on the comp box it will work?

yeah it will work just buy the adapter which most shops should be able to get their hands on. I don't know if you can get it straight from Edge or not.

The reference voltage to the MAP sensor is different. While it will "work", it will never work optimally. IIRC, the reference voltage on the 01-02 trucks is . 5v at 0 boost, where the 98. 5-00's were 1v.



Also, there are no adapters from the round MAP to the big MAP connector for the reason listed above.

then why does the van aaken box come with adapters to fit 98. 5-00 01 and 02 trucks?

Sorry, can't say what or why Van Aaken does what they do. Only know about the Edge stuff.
