Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 99 Kdp?

hey guys in case you didn't read my other threads i am getting a 99' Dodge and was wondering if the 99's had the updated timing case for the dowel pin. . and if they don't is there anyone willing to help me get that tabbed or use a kit once i get the truck... I live in pa now... .

some have revised case. some dont. same with 98. 5s. seen em both ways for both yrs. it worth pulling covr to check and tab if needed. the bolts shld be locktited at least. too bad ya live so far to the east

You can tab it or use the KDP Jig. I have a 99 & used the KDP Jig. I had mine done at a NW Bomber Party. Fairly painless job with the help of someone who has done it before & by jigging it you don't have to tear the front of the engine apart.

Either way is better than doing nothing. Do a search & you will find out how to get the jig tool kit. It's free to use & you just forward it to the next person on the waiting list for the cost of the shipping.

I used the jig on my '99. It takes less than two hours. Some have done it in one. The kit has everything you need, including complete instructions. I don't really know wheree pottsville PA is, but, if Haledon, NJ is close enough, I would help.



If you do your own maintenance and light car work, you are OK to go it.

if ya need the jig ya can get one from harold who manufactures em for a low cost. comes with everything ya need from the fan wrenchs to the locktite with exception of the drill and someone to do the job. he can also supply complete kit for doing the tab method too. both come with detailed instructions
