You can buy a new petcock assembly at Napa. You also probably can remove it totally, clean it, inspect the Oring, and reinstall. Most of the ones I have had problems with were cured by removing and cleaning the drain hole. The little plastic piece that keeps it from coming all the way out is bad about breaking and keeping it from seating. Pull it all the way out and remove the little clip from the end, then clean everything up and put it all back.

I want to thank all who replied--I'm sure this will help him in his repair;

OH, yeah. I do maintanence on many trucks, and flushing and washing the radiator is always a chore. But to do a good job and then have a leak is not acceptable!! Often, this little dandy will get some dirt or, as stated above, the retaining clip will break and wedge in the O-ring. I remove it, replace or clean the o-rings, and re-install it, and usually don't have any problems. Of course, it won't leak until it's full of fluid!!! But that's what clean buckets are for, right?!?!

It's so problematic, these days, I remove and clean 'em before I ever re-install the radiator. Hope you got it fixed!

This time of year brings out the Gremlins. Mine dripped, pulled the petcock, only had one O ring on it but had places for two. Put two new ones on and later it started to drip some again. I am waiting for warmer temps to do it again and find out why its still doing it.
