My seat belt started locking up a couple days ago on my 99 right after I put new front brake pads on...

Ive done alot of reading on the SCTM and seat belt retractor solinoids posted on this and other forums

And I have the Wire color code for the SCTM.

I finally got the driver side to release by useing a jumper wire from the Dark Blue wire(ign/acc) to the Orange/Black(driver side seat solenoid) and finaly got it released.

Every thing works some times, But drivers side still gets locked up and needs to be jumped to release it some times

Was there a permanent rewire bypass or "modification" that guys are doing ?

I read about guys hard wire splice the DB wire to the OR/Bk(drivers side)and OR/RD(pass side). I think useing the Pink(fussed battery) wire might drain the battery.

Well, Ive been reading some more of what I can find on the issue of the drivers seat belt solinoid not unlocking. Pass side works. Drivers side it only unlocks when I jump a power wire to the Orange/Blck wire on drivers side. Unhook the jump wire and it locks again.

Any help ? Gotta be someone that has this figured out or a Bypass trick to eliminate this dumb design

Update. Looks like I have 55 oums across the driverside belt lock solenoid. So that is within the 50-60 ohm specs.
