I had the same seat motor problem om a 1998. 5 My fix was, remove the motor, take it apart, remove the little capaciror and the thin brass strip that is on the brush end of the motor. Put the motor back in, it will work. A word of caution: Donot hold the switch in a long time when the seat reaches it's limits.

That little bus bar set is the bimetal thermal breaker. . a cheapo way of making an not so accurate ckt breaker... .
And they open too early on these "bad" seat motors, that aren't bad.

Should put a fuse or resettable ckt breaker inline with the motor to protect against fire.
