I just bought a set of 235R75X16 Michalens tires. The truck weighs 7000 lbs unloaded. Front Axel 4340 lbs, Rear 2740. What is the proper air pressure for these Tires??? I remembered that someone had a plan to figure this stuff and i know you guy's can help me out?

it calulates out to 58psi front and 36 psi rear but I typically ran 65/55 in my 99 with excellent wear results.

How it was explained in the past.

You take the axle weight and divide it by the maximum capacity of all the tires on that axle which should be 6084 (2 tires @ 3042 each) this gives you a percentage of the maximum. Multiply that percent with the maximum psi rating on the tire.

Examples:

4340 / 6084 = . 72 x 80 psi = 58 (numbers rounded up)

2740 / 6084 = . 45 x 80 psi = 36

tire wear

My truck is heavier around 8500 and run 60 in front and 50 in the back ones. watch tire wear and roll when you drive. Enjoy the driving.
