Guy I know has a 99 24v that had alternator/charging system problems, would not charge at all. I found the main 140a Alt/chg sys fuse blown. He also wanted me to adjust valves on the truck. Truck ran in the shop. I adjusted valve clearances to within specs while I waited on the fuse arrival. After installing the fuse and adjusting valves, the truck will not start, codes 1693 and 1688 came up immediately... VP44?? Guy ran the truck for a while, by charging batteries all the time and then running the truck till battery voltage was low. I'm wondering if the low voltage may have harmed the lift or vp44 in some way, but also if there is something I did while adjusting the valves. I have 11 psi after the filter, and all wire connections to the vp44 are tight and undisturbed as far as I know. No boxes on truck, completely stock, 140k miles. Any info appreciated.
