4bt availability question, Phoenix guys

how many guys and gals are on this thread?

99V-10, 4x4 Automatic, quad cab, short bed, real nice rust free truck. Say good bye to a V-10.

Rusty 1991 Sled Racer is going to donate its heart.

Anyone know what I'm getting into as far TPS, making the transmission work right,as well as the gauges?

I believe the VB's are the same. There was like 1 part number difference between the 03 v-10 VB and the 03 diesel VB and it had something to do with 2nd gear. I would have suspected the TV spring be different, but I guess not.

197,000 miles. They 'claimed" it had a bad head gasket, and I shouldn't come all that way to get it.

I asked if it had water in the oil. No. I said I'd take it anyway, doesn't sound too bad.

Well, I just drove it 2000 miles, it didn't use a drop of oil, or water, or blow any steam out the exhaust. No cross contamination.

I'm baffled. It runs great!

I think someone in house wanted the truck, and wanted to discourage the sale.

keep me updated, I'm looking at a 97 4wd 5sp V10/cummins swap with a beater 98 12v truck that I got in trade... . I might have a spare 95 gauge cluster and complete harness from a std truck if you are interested... .

Well I was wondering whether or not you were gonna make it a competition vehicle etc. Fire rings, head studs, 14mm VE or P-pump, EDM's, twins, you know the good stuff!!:D

Nobody likes Jeeps Matt. They are throw away vehicles.

Well, the 10s out and sold.

Look at the tinker toy starter. The battery cables are only about a third the size they need to be also.

Underneath the battery, ithe inner fender is pretty bad from acid damage.

Sure seems to be alot of wires I don't need... ... ... . :-laf

Parts I needed already:

bell housing

starter

tQ converter

engine mounts

TPS from the 91 wired directly to 99 V-10TPS with same color wires.

Had the V-10 throttle bracket welded to 91 bracket, so I could use the 99 cables.

Cruise cable is short

Had to buy Diesel A/C system.

Still trying to figure out what year crank sensor will work!!

PS lines were direct bolt on.

Vacuum brake system hooked right to 91 pump

Trying to use gasser in tank fuel pump, but having a terirble time finding a pressure reducer.

I wonder if that pump will like diesel? Namely the seals. Why not use the lift pump that it came with? They work just fine, unless you are going to go BOMB crazy.

Ran across a guy that did a V10 to Cummins swap. Has a 12v from a '95 and has a flatbed with stacks. :)

Any new updates? I am looking at swapping a 12 valve into my '99 5. 4L as well. Just curious if the brake booster will be enough, or if I will need a hyrdro booster etc. Also going to see what company you went with for the automatic trans control. Seems like Powertrain Control Solutions is the company of choice.

Yes, It moved 200 feet out of the garage under its own power and quit.

I think its the fuel pump, nothing to tell it to keep running? I dont know yet.
