I'm making this reply for my wife who is sitting beside me reading this thread. She has become an avid shooter and is an excellent shot... . admiditadely, much better than I could ever be. In my opinion, what has made her so good is that she shoots all the time. Lately, it has been at least once a week and probably goes through 250-300 rounds every time out.
Anyway, what she wanted me to tell you is that she prefers a little heavier handgun, regardless of what the caliber is, over a smaller sub-compact or pocket size pistol. With her smaller hands, a unit with some mass to it is a little easier to control, especially on the second or third round in a group. She absolutely hates our Beretta 21A pocket 22's because they are so small, that the recoil is unpredictable in her hand. She was shooting our Smith-Wesson 457 45 ACP today, and she can place 2-3 round groops very consistantly. Her next purchase, which she is going to order in the next couple of weeks, is likely going to be Smith 908S 9mm. It will be her next carry gun.
She doesn't care for the idea of a revolver as an daily carry gun. She much preferrs an auto with a positive safety of some type. Since whatever she carries is likely to spend time in her purse, she doesn't want to run the unlikely rist of someting snagging the trigger.
