Something looks familiar.....

I just discovered that they makes these in 9 volt batteries... ... . I heard a PSA regarding changing your batteries in your smoke dectors (typical around clock changing time) - and a local fire Chief mentioned that these batteries - the lithium not specifically this brand - are the way to go and you can leave them unchecked for up to 10 years...

Now my smoke dectors are wired into the house and use battery as a backup... . thoughts on these --- would you spend the additional ?????

As an electrician who has changed many smoke detectors and batteries over the years I would say the cost is not real effective. You should change the whole smoke detector out after about 5-7 years. On a AC w/9V backup I just change the batteries when they start that very annoying "BEEP!" that drives you nuts trying to find which one has the low battery and change them all then.

I prefer FireX but Kiddie is good to. Those are pretty much all we use. I also usually have at least one CO2 Smoke Detector combo mounted as well. A bit more expensive but I always place it closest to the furnace.
