Hey guys I have a Friend in SealBeach Ca that just installed the ISSPRO EV Boost and EGT gauges last night.

He called me on the Phone to ask me if he should install the 10' probe wire that came with the gauges, I said yes. He said that the probe wires coming out of the Control were long enough to hook up to the probe without using the 10' long connector. ?But he still used the 10' long Probe connector on the install.

This is the Note he sent me last night.

("""Got it all hooked up and things work great. The install went real good thanks

for all your help.

Now check this out!

I took the dodge for a test run after the install to see how

things looked, And found that under full hammer I got

30lbs of boost and the egt went to 1300'!!!

At 3/4 hammer I had 28lbs

boost and 900' egt?

Check with the guys on TDR for me

and see if I need to

adjust the AFC to bring down the egt. 230hp TST kit and free flow Muffler is all thats done to the truck if they need to know"""""")

My Friend has a CA Model 1998. 4 12v CC/SB 4x4,410,Auto and 315/75/16 tires. ,With a TST 230hp plate.

He also had installed the 49 state Manifold on his Truck (egr delete). But he still has the Cat on it.

Does that type of EGT reading sound normal to you 12v Guys out there?. (I have a 1998. 5 24v so I dont know about the Throttle vs. EGT and Boost on a 12v)

Any input would be Apreciated!.

Doug.

Can't help on the gauges but.......

The EGT's sound high to me but not much they should be around 1100-1200 but I'm not sure what parameters he is in, also were did he install the plate at, stock location or slid forward. TST engineers these plates to stay in max CTD ratings, the afc housing will not change the egt's if he choses to drop them then he needs to slide the plate back just a little(. 030 or so) Remember 1300@30lbs is alot of fuel.

Sounds about right. He just shouldn't leave it there too long. I start backing off of mine when it reaches 1300 EGT and I'm pulling a load and I never leave it there for more than 10-20 seconds just to play it safe. :)

In the Isspro instructions for the pyro wire, it should say something like... "a minimum of 6ft and a maximum of 10ft of wire length should be used for gauge accuracy". I don't have the EV series I just have the standard series in both my trucks, but that's what my instrutions said.

Thanks Guys

We had installed the pyro gauge without the 10' lead originally.

Today my friend drove up to help with the lift on my Cherokee. After that was done,We installed the 10' pyro lead on the his truck.

The results were the pyro was reading higher(1500F) WOT. So we took off the 10' pyro lead and the EGT read is at 1250-1300f WOT.

So I guess we will leave it off.

What I cant understand is that On My truck I have the VA and 275rv injectors, And only run 900F EGT pre turbo in the winter, and 1200F EGT WOT in the summer @108-112F ambient temp.

My truck has been Dyno'ed at Cummins West Here in Town @ 282hp. My Buddies has been Dyno'ed @230hp at the same place.

So why am I running Cooler EGT's? Is it the Extra 12valves I have? We both have the same Turbo's.

Could his Cat Be plugged?

???????????????????????

Thanks for the Help guys.

Doug (going back over to the Overvalved section)
