I just received my #45 issue of TDR. The shade tree portion taught me how to change my fuel filter on my 03 cummins. TDR gave me the encouragement to do this, and I did it with ease. TDR's step by step detailed instuctions were awesome.
I went a got a piece of clear 5/8" inner diameter tubing about 3' long and attached it to the existing drain tube and lightly tightened down with a hose clamp and drained directly to a gallon jug. The rest went accordingly.
(I think I got the tube trick off this website) thanks to who ever posted it!
Just think, Ive been through a 95 12 valve a 01 24 valve and now my new 03 and I have never once did the filter myself. . Ive always been a little intimidated by the whole process. . The older cummins were a little harder I think.
At $84 dollars a pop at the stealership... this is going to save me a ton. . or at least give me extra cash for bombing!
FYI... the filter I removed was a fleetguard installed by the stealership... strange huh? I put in a wix gold filter which didnt look as well made as the fleetguard.
I will be buying fleetguards here in the near future!
