Hey guys i think it was a couple months back that this thread was brought up. No one knew what the problem was but my dealership finally figured it out. This is for you guys who were hearing that sound once a day usually in the morning. This was happening to my 05 and here is what the dealership said, " There is a "fan connection" that doesn't always engage so the pressure bulids up in the compressor and causes free on to come out. Thats why the a/c starts blowing out warm. He said all they did was disconnect it and then reconnect it. Sounds too simple but hey i started my truck this morning and for the first time in a long time everything sounded normal. Its kind of like when your computer has a problem you restart it and everything works fine. I just needed a restart i guess. No abnormal noises or anything. I was very happy. Now i just hope the problem doesn't come back. I've only had it back for one day so we will see but i think i can say its fixed for good. I hope this little bit of information helps some of you other guys out there that were having this problem. Good luck.

Just to fill some of you other guys who don't have a clue what i'm talking about, every morning i would start my truck and turn the a/c on. Once i did this i heard a loud noise like something had been released. It only did this when the truck had been sitting for long periods of time. I had my compressor replaced and it still made the noise. During my last visit the dealer said it was just a normal sound and i said no its not check it again and put dye in it so incase it does it again we can find the problem. Sure enough they found that problem after checking it again. Stupid dealer. Anyway thats my story in a nut shell.

I will call my service guy up now and get more info. He kind of just told me the basics what i as the sustomer needed to know. But i will give him a call and see if i can't get more information out of him.

I think they may have been pulling your leg :-laf :-laf There was a flash to correct a condition where the cooling fan would not engage if the coolant temp was low. They may have been too embarrased to admit they did not know about the flash till after they had mistakenly replaced a good compressor.

I don't know guys i took it i got it back and haven't heard that annoying sound since. As long as it stays that way i'm going to say they finally fixed something.

No to mention i would see a cloud of free on in the morning when i turned the a/c on and now i see nothing. It's great.

I really don't think there's anything here to "fix". Mine has been making the clunk since day 1. I'm a bit skeptical about this "disconnect reconnect" fix...
