Ok today the A/C all of a sudden just stopped blowing cold, at the next town i came to sitting at the light i heard a clanking noise from the engine compartment, and saw the clutch i guess spinning around freely on the front of the A/C Compressor. What parts do i need to fix it? i am pretty sure the compressor itself is still good, did it spin a bearing in there? :(

I bought a kit from Dallas area that was a lot cheaper than everone else. I only needed the driving plate, but I bought the clutch assembly. I replaced my bearing assembly, but it did not seem to have anything wrong with the part I removed. I would give it to you if you need it. I made my pullers to remove the plate and bearing assembly. Give me a pm if you need it, good luck Jimk

Try this part num for a 1994 Truck at the Mopar counter: 04897625AA compressor clutch. Anything less than $200 is a fair price.

If will fit, but the entire clutch assy must be changed out with the new pieces in the clutch kit.

You could likely source a clutch thru the a/c aftermarket, but the O'Reilly's etc is going to stock it.

Every once in a while the Four Seasons a/c folks will offer a great deal on a reman compressor for about the same price as the clutch.

Its much easier to r&r the compressor to change out the clutch.

Good luck

Andy
