Any trick to removing the a/c clutch face? I don't have the special tool, I don't even know what the tool looks like.

David you correct I should have checked the spelling, thanks jimjimk said:I made a puller to remove the driven plate on my ac as it to was or had a broken spring and was making a noise.
I priced around and I did not like what I was being told, but as luck would have it I found a place in Dallas area that had the part I needed at a good price. They are also on ebay for ac parts, www.teckchoiceparts.com 972-723-0112 got the parts overnight and no extra. I could have just ordered the plate but I wonted to replace the entire part to change out the bearing also. regards jimk

I used a spanner to hold the face plate while I removed the retaining nut but the face plate is stuck on the shaft. I'm thinking there should be some kind of puller to break it loose. Two of the three spokes on the plate are broken and it never completely clears the pulley at the good spoke, and never completely engages at the bad spokes. It is eating into the pulley and starting to make lots of noise. Time to replace it before it grenades.
Redram, Is what you have a puller or something to hold the plate to loosen the retaining nut?
Thanks for the replies
