I think I need to hide from Mr. Murphy. Just bought an 06' 2500 Mega Cab last week. Drove the truck home 590 miles from Texas ran like a champ, truck has 55k and was owned and cared for by the previous owner. Been driving the truck to work all week and yesterday the A/C started blowing hot air. Took it in to a friends shop to have the freon levels checked, fully charged, compressor gone.

Anyone else have this kind of costly repair on what I considered a "new" truck. Wife is now really using the I told you so and is convinced I bought a lemon. I think it was just bad luck and was wondering if anyone else has had compressors go out.

Thanks... .

This is not a new truck - it's 3 years old.

I haven't heard too much complaining over the years about failed A/C compressors, so I suspect yours is just a hiccup. What exactly failed on it?

I thought mine was toast and the idiots at the dearship told me the same. I bought a new compressor off an ebay seller for around $200. After waisting time and money it turned out beind a $25 high pressure switch that takes 15 minutes to change.
