A/C compressor?

Ok here is a question:



Where is the best place to get a compressor for the A/C.



Is there any aftermarkets avalable?



The dealer is kinda expensive.



Have not had much time to research this so i figured i would throw it on here.

Adam, Try the salvage yards or auto parts stores. You might be suprised what you find.

Ive got one that Im taking off the motor Im rebuilding and I wont be using it. Make an offer and its yours. I dont know if it works or not but Im sure it fine, but it may need a new pulley. I have another member Im giving a part to, and I hope to be able to send his out this week, so If you want it tell me soon so I dont have to make 2 half hour trips to the UPS depot. I bought a brand new one from a place that sells automotive radiator, A/C stuff... .

It was a Mopar part and was brand new in the Mopar box... I think it was $270 or so... .



Look around, and NEVER use a used compressor from a junkyard... . A/C systems are too expensive to chance contaminating your system with a less expensive used part, unless you like changing out receiver-driers, and orifice tubes as a result.
