I noticed in this months TDR Mag. they talk about the A/C Condenser Guard. I have had one on my 03' truck since almost new. It definitely makes a difference, it helps to keep bugs off of the condenser, and easier to wash them off. As well as rocks and other debris. That said, I had to replace the condenser, and after doing so the Guard would not fit the same on the aftermarket condenser. After a few changes to the mounting I was able to get back on okay. One thing I noticed was the sits about a 1/32 to 1/16" off of the condenser. At first I didn't like that, but actually I found it to be better. First off, the bugs and debris cleaned off easier, and secondly I really think that it helps to let the air circulate through the condenser, and of course to the radiator. With the Guard up against the condenser it has to be cutting off some of the air flow, it just makes sense to me. Allowing the air to move in and around the condenser has to help in cooling, it certainly can't hurt anything. :cool

No it can't...and if are also running the tool box tray above the guard, you can actually cut off the top flange of the condendor guard and slide a piece of aluminum window screen (though I uses SS 1/8" screen with a SS frame welded around it) into the space, then put the tool box back on with the two screws.

In 5 minutes you can remove the tool box, pull the bug screen, wash it off and reinstall it...the tool box still keeps the top of the A/C condensor from getting damaged and is super convenient for parts and/or tools while working in the engine bay. In any case, that's what I did on my truck.
