My A/C 'freezes over' the eveaporator when turned to max cool. In the rain it even was blowing fog out of the vents. It deffinately will freeze you out of the cab, but only for 5 minutes. I saw a thread a year ago about moving the probe/bulb for the valve on the Evaporator to solve this problem, but I dont recall where or what else to check. I know a little bit about A/C, but not a lot on the Chrysler set-up. Any information that can help aleviate this problem so I can turn it past half cool would be great. Thanks for any info you can give me!

If the evaporator isn't clogged up w/dust you might have water in the system, you could try evacuating the system and then recharging. Also check the reciever/drier.

I had the same problem last summer. When on max cool on a hot humid day, the system would freeze up and quit cooling. My service tech determined that the system was over charged. He purged the system and added the correct amount of freon. No more problems with freezing up. I do think that the cooling system on these trucks are a weak spot. The output is barely adequate on a hot day.
