I noticed in my 03 truck that the small side window defrost vents work in all modes except vent. Is that normal? I have two other trucks, one 98 Dodge and one 03 Ford. Both of those only use the side window defrost vents when in the two defrost modes. When the truck was new I didn't notice anything different, now that my dealer has fixed the broken "door" it seems to function improperly. The floor always has air flowing now, the modes change much slower and a louder clunking noise is present when changing to defrost.
So, like it or not I always have air blowing on the side windows except in vent. I guess this is an improvement? I get the idea of keeping clear side windows, but I prefer being able to have all the air blowing out of the floor vents on dry winter days like I have done for a long as I can remember.
I just want to make sure that its working right. Does your little side vents work in all modes except vent? Is it normal?
