A.C. Only working on high mode?

Earlier today, I turned my A. C. on and noticed that it only works on high and not any other speed. When I turn it to Low and Medium, the system shuts down including the compressor. When it is set on high, it works.

Funny you should mention that. I don't know if this applies but I'll share my story. My daughter has a Ford Focus and the fan speeds 1 2 3 did not work but the AC light and compressor would come on. Speed 4 blew but the AC would not come on. After visiting a Focus forum I learned that the blower resistor was bad. It is not a part of the blower but a seperate part that I replaced today for $10 and all is well again. Maybe your truck has a similar problem.

Its the Resistor, I replaced 2 in My 03. First blew after about 2 years. The second after a furry critter found its way into my Blower and built a nest. The Resistor is incased in ceramic and costs about $50. 00.

Fairly easy, its two screws, under the passenger side dash to the left of the blower.

I have had it off a few times. Dodge didn't seem to close up the outside air intake as tight as it should have been. In the 5 years I owned the truck, I replaced the blower fins once, and cleaned 5 nests out. Once when I dropped the blower to clean it, its new home owner came out with it. Small Brown and 4 legged.
