I am looking for a way to get the a/c systems in my trucks to cool down faster and get colder on those 100+ days. In my search for that magical product, I came across a product from Interdynamics that claims to boost performance of the a/c system. ]

Interdynamics MC-134a R-134a Maxi Cool

What do you guys think?

I spent 35 yrs. as a HVAC tec... . I look at this product as a STP,Pro-long ect, deal.

Why would you need to clean a compressor? It's a sealed system... If the evap. & condenser are clean, and the system has has the proper charge, thats all your going to get out of it.

Agreed. I've never seen any of these snake oil products make any difference besides in the lightness of your wallet.

Might as well put Zerol Ice in there... lol

electric fan would be the biggest bang for the buck if you can find one that fits between the grill and condensor, i find that's the best thing for a r134a system you can do and i do many conversions on bmws and volvos a year, if it allready has a aux fan but no pressure switch to turn it on with the ac i add a simple relay circuit to run it with the compressor and cars without fans get one

I tried the electric fan trick last year on the 3500 but it hit on the grill and it was only a 10" model. I could tell a slight difference but not enough to make it worth the hassle. If I could find a thinner fan I would try it again.

Tornado Fans I had the 10" model.

some one has mentioned a adjustable low pressure switch that would make it blow ice chips out the vents I will look for it .

A higher blower speed will not help if the evap core still the same temp and likely warmer with more air moving accross it.

What will the adjustable low pressure switch do? Please explain.

still looking for the info, was told it would make compressor run longer before switching off? I have seen the truck I was talking about blowing ICE chips out of the vents so that is why I belive him.

or burn up the compressor when the evap turns into a ice cube, a ac system simply transfers heat and anything you can do to help it absorb and reject heat is a good thing, like cleaning the furball off the evap there was a huge amount of crap on mine so much so i flushed the case out with the hose though the blower hole and let the mud out out the drain hole

look for a product called hot shot it is a 134a type refridgerernt but it is much colder you cant buy it in little cans you have to buy a big bottle which costs about $350 It works very well much betteer then 134a

The best thing you can do to cool your interior is to park in the shade. Here in Phoenix the temperature inside my truck gets to 160 in the sun. It takes 6 miles on the freeway to get cooled down. If I park under covered parking, it's cool in less than a mile. The difference is unbelievable!

Assuming that your system is working properly, no leaks and such, try pulling the radiator and taking a look at it. The crank vent bottle has a bad rep for clogging the inside of the radiator where you can't see it, sometimes up to 50%. If it is clogged that will slow down or restrict the air flow through the condenser.

I did this to the 01 last week and it made quite an improvement. After pulling the radiator I found it to be about 1/3 plugged up with oil and dirt!

The 02 was cleaned last summer and is not currently running so..... :{

i just built a fan a bracket and relay system for mine, i don't have the final electrical connections made and was just running the relay with a jumper on the way home and it cools down much faster just with the fan on low, ill take pictures and give details when done but it may be a couple days, it's going to run on low speed with the compressor and have a push button controlled high speed for when i want it to save wear and tear on the fan and electrical system
