i used a fan from a late 80s early 90s 300e mercedes (this unit comes on several different models)

i tied into a existing stud on the condenser for the left side bracket, theres a unseen 3rd bracket that comes up and bolts to the bumper from the bottom of the fan to the bottom of the top of the bumper, i drilled a hole in the bumper after lifting the plastic up and dropped a small bolt in the hole, the head of the bolt barely lifts the plastic bumper cap and if you don't know to look for it it just looks like another ripple in the plastic

and used a threaded hole in the core support for the upper mount, i added a resistor (sourced from a 89-95 bmw 5 series but any good sized fan resistor should work) so i could have a low speed to have the fan run on low with the compressor all of the time without the heavy draw and loud noise of high speed

i used a fan relay from a 90s 850-940-960 volvo it's a nice big double poll relay and they rarely fail from my experience, they activate with a ground send juice to one leg or ground the other pin to send it to the other leg for high and low speed

i put a washer under the engine side of the 3 grill supports to tilt the bottom of the grill out for the last 1/4" of space i needed to clear the motor on the fan, a smaller fan may not need the clearance and some fans have a built in resistor but when it fails the fan is crap

i don't have any hard numbers of what the fan does for the system but it gets down to temp much faster and a side effect it gets the fan clutch kicked in the butt and up and running (from the hot air running over it) so you get a little extra boost, i have the low speed activated off a relay that powers up off the compressor wire and grounds the fan relay, high speed is activated off a dash switch which grounds the other pin on the relay so i can hit high if i am going to be idling for max ac performance or i need cooling for some reason

Aux. cooling fans, 04.5

Had a problem last summer in Nashville, temp. 98, Hum. about 95. DW was ready to take a cab. Got home, did some searching on TDR, and others, found some guys had put fans in front of the condenser. Took my truck to the dealer, under warr. and had them check it out and service it. Better, but not OK. Put 2ea 10 in. Hayden 3670 electric fans, with relays, manual switch. Works like a champ. The A/C cools much better in the Carolina summer, at least 80% better. Also put daylite driving lights and installed relays and switches to match, with the hot buss in the left end dash close-out panel. The system worked great for the 17 days in Florida this May. Dodge should have done this! Thanks again guys for some good advise. I do have some pix if you need.
