No more cold air. Line cold up to where it goes into vehicle-that's the line which runs along firewall.

Which is the low port and high port?

Manual shows refrigerant being dischared at front by battery port.

I thought the low port was the line with the widest circumference--which would be the connection farthest back. If it's the front one, the kit I bought doesn't fit that connection and the other port in back doesn't fit tightly.

The damper under dash opens on max A/C.

Any ideas on what's up?

I've gotten a few responses, which leads me to another question.

If the line is cold up to where it goes into the firewall, could the evaporator be the problem? Does that mean the freon level is good?

The port caps have a H and L on them to help identify the high and low. The one by the battery is high, use the other one.

On my 96 the low side is right next to the battery. I know for sure, as I just checked pressures and topped off my system.

Mebe they changed somethin after 2000... dunno. .

a/c problem

I am geting ready to replace my evaporator, I am not looking forward to the project but with the weather getting hotter its a must have. I will save some money doing it myself since the dealer wanted $985. Wish me luck! :)
