When running my A/C, the system will run for a period of time, then shut down. I have to shut off the A/C for about ten minutes before the system will run again. After a period of time, the system will run, then shut down again. Sometimes the system will run for hours, other times for minutes. Any help on this would be great.

Sounds like a relay or a circuit breaker overheating and shutting down. It could be a bad relay/circuit breaker, or something is tripping it, like a bad a/c clutch, blower motor or wire short.

Sounds like it might be a bad relay or possibly loose wires somewhere which would explain the irregularity of the problem.

Dont know about our systems but I have seen some that will freeze up and wont work till they thaw out some. also a fulty thermostat for the a/c can make it run too much and cause freeze up.

The blower shuts down on the system, almost like a breaker has tripped. After about ten minutes on the off position, the blower will start working again.

Now that definitely sounds like a auto-reset breaker tripping. I don't have my shop manuals yet, so I don't know if there is a stock breaker wired into the circuit. If it is tripping, it's either because it's defective or you've got a loose wire building up heat and causing it to trip.

Unfortunately, fixing most electrical problems involve 99. 9% trying to figure out what's wrong, and . 1% fixing what you finally found.

Good luck,
