So I have about 5k miles on a replacement a/c compressor, and the pulley definately has a slight wobble to it. I took the belt off and no binding or looseness, so its a bent shaft and not a bearing. The A/C still works fine, and I have a replacement non A/C belt in my boonie box for if/when the compressor goes south, but am I risking anything else by just running it. Will a slightly out of alignment belt belt damage the water pump bearings, for example?

One shop that looked at it said they would just run it and not worry about it, but I wanted to get a TDR opinion. (Although I was kind of surprised to hear a shop turn work away)

I would replace it. We spend $$$ on fluidampeners and flex plates to help control harmonics that will wear on an engine. I think a bent compressor pully or shaft would be counter productive.

If the pulley is running out, then it is the pulley as it fits on the compressor shoulder. If it is the front clutch hub, then it can be a bent shaft.
