OK here it goes, a/c blows about 54 deg. air on hwy. at 70 mph. at idle temp drops to say 49 or 50 deg. seems backward to me. i bypassed heater core still no different. clean condenser and pretty straight fins. maybe orifice tube or expansion valve?

thanks,wade

The first Gens don't have a orifice tube but they do have a expansion valve that has been know to plug up . Look under the dash under the glove box and look to see if leaves have plug the evaporator up where the return air comes in . The return air vent is by the passenger kick panel . I have cut a few of the plastic cross bars out of the a/c box so I can put a water hose in there with a spray nozzle and wash out the a/c evaporator . Don't forget to put a bunch of towels on the floor board to catch any water that might run over .
