in my 2007 the a/c doesnt work

sucked out system, held a vacuum, put approx 2 cans freon in

got it to 26 lbs on low side

and to 70 lbs on high side

a/c clutch wont engage

hooked up laptop with auto enginuity software in it

got 3 codes p0532, p0533 = a/c press sens circuit low and high

p063c = generator voltage sense low

cleared all those codes to see what would happen

they didnt pop back up but now have code p1274 = a/c clutch control circuit open

i'm thinkin compressor may be shot

anyone have any advice?

thanks

You need to check for continuity across the low and high pressure switch's, with the system off, that way the low pressure will be above the closure settings and the same for the high pressure. The connectors must be off. If one or both is open with the system off you have a bad low or high pressure switch. Check it with your gages on to confirm the pressures. The sequence of operation is, that on a call for cool (or defrost) the clutch engages and will stay engaged until the low pressure gets to its open pressure, which in turn opens the circuit to the clutch. It is the way it maintains the temperature through temperature/refrigerant relationship. If the low pressure does not open when ref/temp is below freezing it can damage your evaporator.

thanks rvtrkn

i'll check on those switches

i know where one is down by compressor and its in the line, i believe its high side?

but i dont know where the other one is located at

would it be inline as well

Go straight to the clutch first and jump it. My guess is a bad clutch, and no they are not sold by themselves.

thanks for the advice guys

easiest thing to do was jump clutch switch

did that and nothing

ordered new compressor be here tmro

pain in rear to check continuity of low pressure switch where its at

will check it tmro when everything is loose and it easier to get to

still cant find that high pressure switch though
