Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) a/c won't work

Last week my a/c was blowing nice and cold, the hext time I turned it on it blew only hot air. The compressor will not kick on ,not even with the defrost. I tried to recharge the system but it didn't take a charge because it still had plenty R-134, and no fuses are blown. Any ideas what else to check.

check out the circuit for the compressor clutch activation. If it has power and ground then check to make sure that the air gap on the clutch is with in spec, these often have problems with to much gap and then the magnetic coil can't pull the clutch plate into the hub because it is too far away.

Could also be a bad high or low pressure switch.
