In the last few weeks my trucks A/C has decided to only work when it wants to. It will work great then Ill shut off the truck for a bit hop back in and it wont work. Truck will sit overnight and turn the a/c on and it will be back to normal the next day. This has happened about 4 times now in the last month. Any ideas? Thanks

I had the compressor, evaporator and condenser replaced last year. Ill have to call the shop and see if I have any warranty.

Same thing is happening to me. I have an 03 have tried everything, was told it could be my Power Distribution Center (fuse box, under the hood, drivers side) they have been known to go bad and cause all kinds of electrical problems. But as you have an 06 could be the TIPM. Just a thought. There is a thread where someone added another relay to the clutch compressor to fool the TIPM as the compressor clutch was drawing too many amps and the TIPM would shut down the air conditioning.

Good luck, hope you find the cause of the problem. I am looking at spending App $400 for a new fuse box in the hopes it fixes my issue.

I am having the same problem with my 06. It worked great up until this spring, then my dad was meeting me at the boat ramp to take the boat out of the water on our fishing trip and asked "when did your a/c quit working?". I checked out all the fuses and they were fine, cold air comes out of the vents when I turn the a/c on and have it draw outside air through it, but the blower won't blow air. On the trip home, I got about 50 miles down the road and tried it again and it started blowing cold air like it usually does. It is an intermitant problem, so it's hard to diagnose. It's not the compressor as it is making cold air, it's not the blower as it has been tested, it's something in the electrical system with my truck. Which is not good because I am very limited in my electircal knowledge and I doubt it's a cheap fix! Let me know if you get it figured out and I'll do likewise.

It ended up being the compressor that went bad. Luckily it went bad under warranty and all is good now. It was at the shop for 2 days because every time the mechanic went out to try the ac it worked perfect. Luckily right before he called me to pick up the truck he tried it one more time and it finally stopped working. Hope this helps.

Were you getting cold air drafting through the vents when the air wasn't blowing? Or was it an all or nothing? Also, did you check to see if it would blow air when set in heater mode?
