This is probably a question for you guys in the hotter climates.

As recently as last week, I checked the air on my truck and it was blowing in the low teens at the back of the vent. Air temp here in Seattle was in the 60's.

Today it is about 93 outside. The air wast nearly as cold as I expect it to be. So when I checked it, the lowest I could measure was about 70.

I did have an air cond service in April or May.

Can the much hotter outside temp cause it to not cool as well ? Or am I looking at a leak here ?

Thanks,

TRat

Does not sound too far off. When I took AC/Refrig classes in 1979 one thing my instructor taught me is any air conditioning system does not cool a d**n thing. It simply moves heat.
As a rule on home or auto cooling systems the register temp will only be 20-25F degrees cooler than the incoming air temp which feels perfect in my book on a 98F day. Tractorat your system is better than average. My daily driver (04 explorer) runs around 40-43F after 10 minutes driving on a 98F day.
