Does anybody know where the air intakes are for both fresh air and recirculated air? I drive in dusty conditions a lot and am considering putting a piece of cloth over the openings for dust control. I'm guessing the intakes would be the same for the heater, as well.

Where your wiper arms spout out of the hood area for the outside air. On recirc, it must be under the dash someplace.

Thanks for the info. Interestingly, I just had my windshield replaced (took out a bird last year) and never noticed it. From the shape of the filter from Geno's it looks like it would be tough to manufacture one myself, so that may be the way to go. It will be tough to justify the $60 expense, however. The fresh air intake is a different story, though. Just remove the wiper arms, the two screws on the black plastic and the entire piece slides out over the engine compartment. Seems kind of strange that they put the fresh air intake on the hot side of the engine. I would have thought it would be in front of the engine or near the headlights.

Any truck I've ever had has had the air intake between the hood and the windshield. I still remember cleaning the truck off after a snow storm w/ dry powdery snow and having the defrost system suck it right through the intake and blow it out all over the inside of the truck.
