Agip All Guard 15W-40 [Agip Heavy Duty Motor Oil] - $34. 95 : American AGIP, an ENI Company
Agip is a company very well known in Europe, but not so much in North America. I have used their racing motorcycle synthetic for a long time, and it is the best I have ever used for my Ducatis. I emailed a field rep, who forwarded it to their U. S. blending plant manager regarding the CI versus CJ controversy. Here is the response:
“Mr. Fucili is correct stating that the new API CJ-4 oils were designed to protect emissions, Diesel Particulate Filters in particular, but in no way was emission protection the only "driver" of the specification. API CJ-4 products represent a significant increase in wear protection, piston deposit control, soot handling and oil consumption control compared to API CI-4 and CI-4+ products.
American Agip offers a two tier product line to accommodated different business segments. The All-Guard line of products will remain available for customers choosing to remain with a CI-4 performance product, While All-Guard XHD-7 15W-40 has been introduced to fill the API CJ-4 segment. ”
Thought you folks might be interested, and yes I know it shows zero stock on the web site currently.
