I have been searching for a few new projects to keep me occupied. Question was, what? I'm not sure how it happened, but one thing lead to the other and well here we go.

1. I will add a remote dual pass oil filtration system to the truck. I ordered the Amsoil machined metal filter mount and also ordered the CPFF billet oil adapter. The fittings and lines are in, they will be Russell pro flex #10 hoses with their AN fitting. I found a nice spot up front behind the Buckstop to mount it, I'll have the mount finished by Tuesday or so. I am still waiting on the oil adapter to get in. I thought I would take plenty of pictures and notes for later reference. Oh yell, I ordered a Amsoil Pre Lubber also, it is a sweet looking unit that will mount to the filter housing and give the engine a shot of oil prior to start up.

2. I will also add a transmission cooler to the truck. I ordered a B&M HI-Tek cooler complete with fan and thermostat. I'll use Russell Pro flex #8 hoses with their AN fitting as well. Everything is in with the exception of the line adapters. I'll mount the cooler back by the transfer case and up in the frame . That too I'll take plenty of pictures and notes, not sure when it will happen.

3. The engine compartment will get a make over. I have ordered several aluminum billet parts to install, some I have customized. I hope it turns out OK, the parts from Bob Wagner look extremely nice.

4. We are going to revise the trucks suspension. I know it has been less then a year since the last revision, but hey, Why knot? I was think what could you do to make the ultimate Dodge/Cummins suspension? I think most will contend that T-Rex engineering and Kiderman are the top two choices. After a few phone calls and many E-mailings, I decided to do the Supper T-Rex type suspension. I ordered everything for the transformation, and it should be in next week. The ideal will be to go with the Fox Pro Series shocks, all six (6) of them. Yes I'll go with dual Fox front shocks, they will all have the remote reservoirs and I will have them tuned (valved) for my application. Not sure as to the time table for this project, I'll just see how it goes and when all the parts arrive. The UPS and FEDEX guy's have been very busy lately around here. I'll post as things go in or happen, and I will make plenty of pictures. The first ones will be of all the parts, and I'll go from there.

It seems like Now I have plenty to do for the next few months. I'll keep you informed

Hey y-not,

I would love to see some pictures, especially of the dual pass oil filtration system. I've been reading about it & plan on adding something like that in the future. But out of curiosity why did you pick the dual bypass unit as opposed to the single bypass? From what I've been reading in the archives the dual bypass sounds like overkill & seems to have a bunch of potential installation issues.

But it sure sounds like you are going to have one killer truck.

Well, thanks for the offer to work on your truck, just give me your credit card and stand back.

My truck will be 2" higher the stock. I can not go any higher, I pull a Gooseneck trailer and I just fit under the thing now. I am concerned with freeing up as much wheel travel as possible, and then controlling that movement courtesy of the FOX shocks.

I went with the dual by-pass filter because it is in fact overkill. I like the ideal of keeping the oil as clean as possible. I use the Amsoil synthetic oil, it does not wear out like conventional oils do, but it gets just as dirty. If I can help reduce that level of pollutants in the oil, all the better for my truck. I will take plenty of pictures, and make notes of what works and what doesn't. The Amsoil filter bracket is about the best one out there, it is machined steel with no worries of attachment arm breakage or cracks where the lines screw into the threads, as in with cast aluminum pieces. Same goes for the billet oil filter adapter, no worries. Besides, the Cummins is definitely OVERKILL, so Y-KNOT.

Sounds to me like you're having too much fun.

I am really curious about one thing, tho'. [Now, if you don't want to answer this I'll certainly understand. ] IF you have a wife, just what does she think about all your exotic adventures in truckland?

You know you make an interesting point. My wife is the most understanding woman in America. She seldom says anything about my HOBBIES, and even helps when I need that extra (or very small) hand. As long as I can pay for the parts when the bill comes in she is fine with it. I don't just work on the Dodge, I also work on her Honda and on my Ford which I built for my son. I have never been able to leave anything stock, not sure why??? There is an excitement associated with customizing cars and trucks, I suppose I am addicted.

Y-knot -

I like reading about your various projects. Doesn't seem like you ever leave a rock unturned and you do great research before hand. I appreciate the fact that you spend the time letting us all know how your projects are going. I hope this doesn't seem like I am stirring the pot, but a while back you stated:

"I would not recommend the T-Rex system myself, I think it is way to expensive, and most would never use the suspension mods to there mid to upper limits. More of a Bling, Bling item. "

What has made you change your mind? I understand you are doing sort of a hybrid system, just wondering how you decided to go forward with T-Rex.

Thanks and keep up the great work.
