I think everybody needs to get a grip on the front end restyle, myself included. When the first Superduty's were released back in '98-99 I thought to myself how ugly, Now I like the look of the Superduty's. Then DC released the "3rd Gen" Dodge Ram and I though OMFG like many others did, but now I think they're pretty sexy. Most people dislike change and I understand that. However, the mid model refresh of the Ram is not that terrible.

Also, look at what we gain by the '06 refresh?

1. 20% better illumination for the headlights.

2. Redesigned front seats. I know many think the existing front seats are fine but myself and others have expressed extreme displeasure on the current seating comfort.

3. A true "crew cab".

4. Jacobs Exhaust Brake compatability for the 48re.

5. Power sliding rear window.

6. Rear seat DVD player ( I have a 17 month old so it's a must have option when traveling with the fiver).

I know to some these are friverlous options but I personally want every one of the above options.

The only disappointments I currently have with the '06 are

1. No more 7/70 warranty.

2. No increase in GVW to match the new Superduty.

Beyond that, I will be ordering an '06 Mega Cab within the next 6 months.

You forgot, ... No 8' bed or DRW with the MegaCab.

The good news is they didn't do to it what they did to the Dakota. Now there is the ruination of a previously very fine looking (small) truck.

And I'm gonna say it again, thank god they kept the quad cab and didn't go strictly to the mega cab.

How in the world did we all raise our kids before rear seat DVD? Sorry, I could not resist.

I may be showing my age here, but I remember having one of those little games that had pics of cars, houses, barns etc. then when you saw that object you slid a red tab that covered the object, not sure what it was called or if anyone will know what I am talking about, but basicly you looked out the windows and checked out the scenary.

I admit that the pictures I've seen of the '06's are not very flattering however I've actually seen a few 2006's IN PERSON on the road and they look MUCH better up close and personal... . IMHO of course.

I saw an '06 in L. A. a few weeks ago with blue plates (Michigan, I think) and it looked sweet. I thought it was a Dakota at first, but it was much bigger. It was a 1/2 ton reg. cab short bed in bright red. Good looking truck.

I like the new look, but not enough to trade away my '03 until I start having some kids.

I know what your saying. However, If watching a DVD will keep my daughter that much more amused and quiet during long trips I want it.

Also, my parents cars had no AC so I sweated alot as a kid but that doesn't keep me from using mine during the summer.

The new front end makes the truck look to much like a Dakota for me. I'm sure it will be better in person.

The new front end does look better on the Ram with it's softer lines, the Dakota really looks wierd because of the hard body lines and the fenders IMO.

I kind of went through this situation in 02 when the Wife and I bought a new 02 4-Runner for her DD, could have waited a few months for the new "uggly" 03 but wanted to get the classic 02 look, now that the new ones have been out for a while I wish that we would have purchased the 03 as our 02 looks outdated.

Which is exactly how they continue to sell new cars. They have to change them juuuust enough to pique your interest, but not enough to ruin current year sales.

I think the new look is fine. Not too drastic, very subtle. Could have been A LOT worse! Leave that whole angular/flat/stealth bomber look to the Chevy's.

Looking forward to those better front seats too. Interested to see if they mount up to our "old" body styles :-laf
