Was under my 01 today doing an oil and filter change, got oil analisis to send in. fuel filter, removed oil puke bottle and extending hose. Adjusting rear brakes. Rotated tires. Ran into a couple things I cant answer.
1)My truck is missing rubber bumpers on the front end incase you bottom out,is it only my truck or are other rams missing them too? There are provisions for some right behind the coil springs.
2)My right front spring has a tag on it says 46, my left side spring has a 39 on it. Is this out of balance? which is stiffer 46? and can my dealer balance this out for me?

yes, there should be stoppers, and the spprings are rated differently to accommodate for the driver's and fuel's weight.
the 46 being stiffer.

Look on the inside of the frame rail, the rubber stops should be there. I think you are looking at the brackets that sit on the outside of the frame rail directly above the link arm axle bracket. I can't figure what it's for either, but it makes a great spot to put a small bottle jack if you need to push the axle away from the frame to get the coils out.

I've got two 01 2500 4x4's sitting in my driveway right now. I too had the same question about bump stops about two months ago. From what I can figgure out, Articat has it right, and the axel bump stop is on the frame, directly above the axel. The upper control arm has a pad on it and there also is a corresponding bracket on the frame that would appear to support a rubber stop. I have looked at over 20 4x4 rams and none of the have a bump stop, so don't worry, the guys at DC assembly did not forget the rubber. Enjoy the new ride.
