Has anyone seen (or tried) this?

The first time I saw a Ruenel bumper was at my local gun club in the late 80's. It was mounted on the front of a 1st generation truck. I was impressed in how well and sturdy it was made as well as the quality in welding of same.

At that time I made up my mind that I would someday own one of these.

The first thing I was aware of when I purchased my new 04 CTD was the apparent weakness of the front bumper.

After reading Joe Donnelly's article in TDR's issue 50 on page 96, I made up my mind to have one of these made for my truck. I selected a "non winch bumper" for my 2WD truck as I seldom go off the highway except to campgrounds, but have had several near collisions with deer. It does not take much to incur a $2000 expense bill to repair the front end of your truck in hitting one of these creatures. These bumper's do not come cheap, but as the old saying goes, " good things do not come cheap".

On having my bumper installed after waiting some time, the wait was worth it. I am very happy with the appearance and the installation was top notch.

My truck only setteled about 1/4 " in the front, but the steering is unaffected and the need for new shocks is not apparent at this time.

I have had many good comments on this installation from various people, among who was my Dodge Dealer in their service department. Im a "Happy camper here" My next move will be the rear bumper that I should have acquired when this was installed.

Reunel Co. is a first class operation.

I have had 3 Reunel rear Bumpers.

One on my 86 Ford F-250 (460 CI)

Then my 99 V10 F250

And now on my 2001 CTD

IMHO They should be STOCK! Best bumper In terms of longevity and toughness.

On friday this past week - My Fiances 16 year old bumped my truck in the driveway backing into a parking spot. Creased the hood, Pushed the headlight light in and cracked the grill of his 95 Maxima. I have a scratch by the rear reverse light of my Reunel.

(Don't ask how he did it. I am still trying to figure it out)

Mactruck, that sells me 100%. Were the rear bumpers stainless or regular steel? Wonder if a plain stainless can be painted? My front bumper is steel and painted to match the truck which is silver. It looks like it came with the truck.
