Sounds like a fun day. My Ram is by far the nicest vehicle to take road trips in. I am heading to DE this weekend on a road trip, 320 miles round trip. And ill still have PLENTY of fuel left.

My wife has a 99 Mustang GT convertible 5spd but I would rather drive my truck any day, the only place the Mustang is better is passing on a 2 lane road, the truck gets better mileage also.

I had a good weekend trip also. I filled up and left Seattle saturday noon and headed east on I-90 to the Gorge and took hwy 97 and went up and stayed the night in Omak. Next morning headed into Canada,up to Penticton, then west on hwy 3 and stayed the night in the Harrison Lake area.

I refilled somewhere before Hope... yes,I always fill to the same spot in the filler neck. I covered 465. 2 miles and refilled exactly 22 gallons, which came to 21. 0 mpg! This is great considering I kept a average speed of 72 and the Canadian Cascades are steep 11% grades to climb. Not bad for a 7300 pound 4x4 quad cab LB! #ad

Hey MikeR
That good mpg's, This is my 2rd Truck, my first one a 92, got 17mps around town. This one is better, I know some of the guys out there don't get as good as this, and some say they get better, I seem to get the best mpg at around 1800 to 1900 RPM, some where at around 69mph. How about you ?.

I definitely get my best mileage at 2000-2100 rpm. 19 mpg is the norm for this truck on trips,so I'm quite happy to break 20. My worst mileage occurs at 1600-1700 which is where we cruise at during our BOMBer convoys to truck events (always 15 mpg).

I used to have a '99 5spd and it also got its best at 2000-2100.

I figured my mileage out going over to Montana... I was in a hurry, and with my 4. 10s, going 70-72mph, averaged 19. 78mpg. I loved it and told my wife it was all of the mods that gives me the great mileage! :D :D :D :D :D
