Its dead - DRIFTY has died!!

DRIFTY still has no totals for the roll. Body shop needs to find a QC cab & fenders/hood/doors (we can save pass rear door & possible pass fender). Really don't want to start over with a 43k$ 03 that wont even come close to org order for this one.



If anyone has a lead on these parts, please e-mail me so I can pass info onto body shop (his locator hasn't been able to find these parts, yet). Cost and location (contact #'s) would also help. Color dont matter (repaint) but if Driftwood even better.



Just in case sig doesn't show up: y2k QC, SB, 2x4. If we can come up with "used" parts, might be able to convince ins co to rebuild. Bed is gonna need new skin on pass side only. Might be able to save inner panels on the front doors but rears are ??able, att. Need better tear down to be sure. Also fan blade and shroud, maybe rad needs replacing (might be able to repair buttttt... ... ).



Any assistance with parts would be appreciated.

DA Cad, da cab....

is the hardest part to find. The body shop's locator cannot/hasn't found one yet. Until we find a cab no pricing for the ins co for decision on re-build or total.



Any ideas?

How about contacting one of the outfits that does custom "extensions" and have the thing turned into a true 4-door at the same time!

Finally found "DA Cab"

Just gots call frm body shop - they FINALLY found a/some cabs... . sews maybe next week will get to "dis-cuss" w/ins co on which way it'll go (tear-irratibly missing the smell of DIESEL!!!).



Ho-Hum, our units are so well taken care of that its hard to find the parts 'cause if we do "bruise" em, its beyond what is available on the used parts market. Even if they total it, there is a lot of gud on it (new trans, clutch, eng with excellent sample readings, recent brake job, shocks {Rancho 9's} nerf bars, various wiring changes for fun and show and convience, etc) and will have to think real hard about a buy-back.



Wonder how much I could get for the parts and would it be worth it? Can't answer this till we get the hard numbers together. 70% of market is: ??? and if worse comes to worse, I have "gap" ins with the loan so it would be a "pay-off" but then a '03 w/o all the ordered goodies on this one is still 43k + adding all the bombs from scratch (as verry little would cross over the the new model). New cover for trans & rear, new e-brake, new brush guard, nerf bars, etc, no camper pkg avail - no rear sway bar avail for '03 (probably not yet), decisions, decisions, decisions... ... ... ...



With everyone looking for a used/new unit, will probably have trouble finding the "right" one to replace it w/o going to a 03 (keep seeing used "auto"s in town for sale, but want the 5/6sp - nothing against the autos, as such, {03 would/may have one} but would have to have the trans up-graded for bombing/hvy towing... nother xtra cost item).

Whell, its dead!!

All new parts (ins co wont buy used un-warranted parts) cost too mucho dinero (16900) so its a total as of 1-21. Buy back price and settlement wont be know for a week or 2.



Dont feel like a buy back so have started looking at the '03's. If buy-back is right price, is anyone interested in the parts? Have had great samples on the eng oil (Delo), new clutch and 5spd trans 6k+ ago (with pto filter). Mag hy-tek rear cover. Agate seats/interior. A pillar with guages (before & after probes), e-brake (mopar), etc. All these are going with it and if the price is too high, will try to find out where it ends up. Of course, if it is a buy back and you are interested - E-MAIL me by 2-1 so I have an idea on which way it should go.
