Off Roading CAD strength, how much can it take?

Competition Hooked on watchin

here's my '68 Ford bronco at Silver Lake sand dunes this past weekend... after 9 months of major work (new tub etc. ) it's up and running again. a lot of little things left to do yet.

here's some specs for anyone who cares

-302/C4/Dana 20

-Power Steering (1/2 ton 4x4 conversion)

-big bearing HD 9 inch rear (cut down 78 bronco housing) with Strange 31 spline axles and spool.

-Dana 44 front with F-150 disks and axle shafts (297X joints)

-Centech Wiring harness

-36x14. 50 Super Swampers

and to keep it TDR compliant, I towed it there with my '01 2500 QC 4x4... ;)

hopefully the picture shows up nice, someday I'll need to figure out how to link to a website.

Looks sharp!

We had a tractor/truck pull over the weekend at the county fair. One of the pullers was using a late '70's Bronco. Was holding his own till the rear u-joint let go.

Rams n Hogs

I had a 67 with a 289, 3 on the tree. I loved it. Had plans of a fiberglass body, but the frame was rusted through so I scrapped it. :{

Nice job!!!!!!. I love to see the old stuff reborn, its awesome. I am in general a Dodge man, however I have always had a thing for the Bronco, big or small. I live in Muir/Lyons area, just north of I-96. I have been to busy to get to Silver Lake this summer, still trying to make plans to get there. Have you taken your truck on the dune at all? I sold my jeep last year and debating about taking stock '01 up there... . ? See ya around.

Nice looking Ford.

:--)

Geez, did I just say that? Oh well.

Took my wife up there August 4th for our 25th. Never made it there when we got married like I planned. Suppose now she'll want the cruise we were supposed to take on our 10th.

That trail going in sucked big time. I need to put on my new shocks and springs before I go back. Oo. Oo. Oo.

There was a vintage bronco pulling guys back off the big hill when they got high-centered. Not enough weight to just pull them, so he kept snapping straps. It was fun to watch. And yes, after we sat there a while and the wife said "you're not going up there are you?"... :rolleyes:

Sounded like a plan to me. Made lotsa noise and up we went. Twice up the big hill, no problemo. :D

BTW - Did I mention the Duramax parked next to me turned around and left the park? :{
