On my way to work this morning, a guy I work with pulls up beside me on the highway (going 60 at the time... he's got a Mustang Cobra) and he obviously wants to play. He knows I've been doing some work on my truck. I gave him a little signal and gave it some moderate throttle. I saw him drop it into fourth and then he was no longer there. The suspense builds... I pretty much left him. We got into work and he said he used the wrong gear. I told him he should have just left it in 5th like I did. lol. He just said d*mn ... Thing is, I'm still running the stock clutch. The new one is on order and I can't wait to start putting it all to the ground. The Cummins in these trucks give you the best of all worlds... hauling, towing, fuel economy, and the acceleration of a sports car. It would just be nice to have a little more faith in the fuel system... but that's another story.

Nice job there Mr. Andretti! #ad
Poor little Furdy #ad
I'm appreciating my new found power more everyday. Use to have to push it to get to 80 on the highway, now... ... . way too easy. Acceleration, especially from 50-90 when TC locked up, unreal. What's your next BOMB Vaman?

Definitely a clutch. The new SouthBend was supposed to ship out to me Friday. Peter claims they haven't been able to make the thing slip yet. I'm entering my first truck pull in August so that should test it. After that it's going to be a fuel system upgrade... probably just the banjos and lines for now. What's next on your list? I agree completely about the acceleration... pretty incredible for a 7000+ lb vehicle. What really amazes me though is how little throttle is takes to really move the thing. It's rendered my cruise control completely inoperable... cracks me up. #ad

Good job, but just wait till you creep up on a zo6 on a hill and see the look in his eyes in his mirror cause he can't believe you got near him. But then if you put 60 grand in a cummins, that wouldn't even be a race. #ad

My South Bend clutch should be here on Wednesday, and it goes in on Thursday. Then I can turn my EZ back on (it's set to Timing Only). For now, I'm living with just the added power of the DD3's. The thing pulls like an SOB with everything turned on.

Oh, and my HX-40 is due tomorrow or Wednesday. #ad

have an acceleration story for you.....

comin' back from moab(utah) on a 2 lane road, got stuck behind some traffic (bazer w/trailer, van, car, SUV,18-wheeler, car, ford f150)...
doing about 45-60 depending on hills (rises really... . )and all the vehichles were spaced out a bit from the one in front starting to go a bit faster. Saw a open space for a good bit. I hit it, and went around all 'cept the van and blazer w/trailer because of oncoming car. went from 50 to 85 in a few seconds. oh and my truck is stock 'cept for the turnbuckle on the turbo... . might get a black box later, maybe at MM??
happy rammin,... and passin!! #ad

Good one Vaman. I have a buddy at work that is dying to show me the real power of his Mustang GT, don't have the heart to crush him, like the others in their riceburners with 50 HP exhausts and 100 HP airfilters #ad

Vaman, gonna tackle the suspension next. Looking at a Dick Cepek Stage III 6" lift, traction bars and some Goodyear 12. 5x37 inch Wrangler LT GSA radials. Time to make it look like a "real" 4x4 #ad
