Hi , new member to board. I HAVE A 98 quad cab,5 speed,3. 54 gears,12 plate full forward,3000g. s. k,guages,4inch M. B. R. P. pipe,B. D. exhaust brake. My question is I would like to get a little more power without toasting my clutch just yet . I would like to get a number 11 plate, but I understand it does not like the gsk. Any advice on where to next? thanks in advance.

Welcome! You could try a 10. Supposed to be very flexible. Also, do you have a different ie-bigger :D intake? More fuel needs more air. Do some searches on here. There is more than enough info to blow a hole in your wallet the size of Texas!

Hi, Welcome to TDR. I agree, I think you'll find the 10 plate to be the most popular plate around here. Did you put the boost elbow in with the plate? afc housing full forward? anybody check the timing? 15-16* seems to be the zone. Try searching, you will find the answers here, this is the best place for information for these trucks you will ever find, great group of people here full of tips and plenty of "been there done that stories", they know what works and what doesn't because they already did it. If the bug has already bitten you, then you can go ahead and kiss that stock clutch goodbye :) This is like a disease with no cure, as soon as you get used to one thing, you have to do another, and another... Best of luck, Dave.

Yes I have the boost elbow, afc housing full ahead, timing set at 15, the kdp killed all by pdr. While I understand the need for more air I am leery of these different air intakes. I am always on extremelt dusty logging roads and dont want to damage the engine. Is there one system that will give me the airflow while still protecting the engine?

Search BHAF... It's a big disposable filter giving plenty of flow and proper filtering. If you were to go that route, I'd suggest when attaching the hose to the filter neck to also drill 2 holes for a couple of small self tapping screws through the metal clamp/hose/filter neck. That way you know for sure it'll never fall off...

Thanks vssman on the BHAF I installed it today, along with a home-made heat shield. seems to spool up faster and the sound of the turbo is worth the price of admission alone!I think I will install a #10 plate and slide it back some and go from there.
