Change of address

It seems that I ain't the only one that is waiting a while when submitting a reply. Have noticed an abundant of duplicate replies while surfing the TDR. I suspect that people are hitting the submit button more then once. This is what it is doing: when you hit the submit button it doesn't do anything... or that is what it seems. You are not taken to the screen that says "If you don't want to wait click here" At least it can take over a minute at times to get this screen. Is all well on your end? Here's my tracert...

You're not the only one, I must have deleted over 50 duplicate, triplicate, etc posts this morning.

I opened another window and continued on when the submit page won't move after posting, it was still sitting there over an hour later. It had posted my reply only once but sent ten email notifications to another member.

Seems to be a intermittent problem, the funest kind.

I'm looking into this now. I don't see anything on the server logs that show a problem at all. Mysql is showing only 8 queries in the last 16 hours that were "slow" which is defined as one that takes more than 10 seconds (. 000% - doesn't even register). I understand from talking with Robin that there were lots of net problems in the Atlanta area earlier today so it may have been related to that.

Hmmm, it's been extremely slow all weekend. I timed my last post and it took 53 seconds to get to the "you are now being taken. . . "

Everything else is working great, pages load real fast, as soon as you submit a new post, it dies. Gets even worse if you attach a picture.

Does it to me at work too

Steve,

It's still doing it at 9:30 - 10 PM this evening. I have been hitting submit and doing something else while I check back every so often to see if it has finished the submit. In one case, while I was waiting I reloaded the page in another window and the reply was posted. It was still a few minutes before it finished on the reply window. So it appears that it makes the post and does not respond to the submit window for some time. There is one thread that has a six peat from someone who didn't think his reply post had worked.

Steve,

This behaviour seems to be confined to this site and to the reply function. I get no delays like this on other sites I use. Delays I experience at other sites (and sometimes this one) hang the browser (NS and IE) so that it is unresponsive until the hang up clears. The reply function does not act like this. I do not get consistant delays browsing this site. The reply seems to be always slow to respond to a "Submit Reply". I don't think this is a "general internet problem".

edit: Murphy's law, this time it responded quickly.

Joe - read the BIG BOLD announcement at the top of every forum page that says "**** 03/24/03 Slow posting problems and site outtage ****".
