In my point of view "The insulted" had delivered more of an insult than he later received. However the matter doesn't concern me directly.



Anyway be well in all you do CF. We did not see eye to eye in politics but you always stood up for what you believed in and never backed down, that says allot. Wish you the best in life, may the champaign flow for a long time to come.

i have only been a member for a short time, and don't know bill, but i have come to realize that illflem (bill) is one of the most knowledgeable people here. it deeply saddens me that a person of his experience and knowledge has been disrespectected by person or persons on this site.



age, experience and knowledge is not respected as it once was, especially by the younger generation.



please, please convey my heartfelt feelings to bill. he will be a great loss to this forum.



please pm me so that i can more fully understand why this happened.

sledpuller posted a comment on his understanding about why we lost the vietnam war. bill's a vet and didn't agree.

As my inquiring mind had to know what got Bill riled up, I went and skimmed through what is left of that thread. To save anyone else the trouble I'll summarize here.



POLITICS. 'nuff said. :-{} #@$%!



Okay, the other short version: Somebody started a thread praising an individual who represents one side of our two-party system. Many people echoed his sentiment. Then somebody came in there and said something contrary to the praise. It degenerated quickly from there. There were PM's and deleted posts and all.



Touchy stuff. Worse than oil and trannys.



Maybe Bill will simmer down after a bit and come back around. I certainly hope he does. We don't need to lose members with his level of experience, expertise, and contribution.

WOOOOOW!!!Each day produces topics that I take into prayer. None of the events of today compare to the emotional sparring I just read. Regardless of my own beliefs on the subject of our president, I sure hope each and all envolved in this can find room for forgivness. Its a sad day when a forum of this nature gets fractured over political differences. Bill, I for one sure hope you reconsider. You have been one to always help others, and would certainly be missed. I also went and read what was left of that post before the administrator closed it. Wow - that was why politics should never be discussed on great sites such as this :-{} .



I only recently started posting on this site, however, I have been scanning it for years as it is a great resource and has saved me money on being able to fix my '96 myself. Bill seemed to always read through the posts from people in need and gave them quick, accurate advice.



I (and everyone else) on this board will feel a great lose and can only hope that he reconsiders. :{

I really (and sadly) doubt that will happen.

Saw the same with a good friend a few years back.

Sorry to see you go Bill. You were a wealth of knowledge. Hopefully you will be able to steer clear of us armchair politicians . Think I'll get out of the TDR politician threads myself, only causes frustration at people you would otherwise call friend.

Politics and Religion. Every since I can remember, I was told if you wanted to remain friends with someone, you never argued politics and religion. I have just read this thread tonight and we have lost a good man in Bill Fleming because of the knowledge and the time that he devoted. How many more people are we going to lose because someone does not agree with you and you have to start attacking him personally. I hope in the future that the people in charge will shut threads of this nature down even if it was in the "other forum. " Your knew where it was headed. Six Shooter, I tip my hat to you, you have a much better way with words than I do. I do not mean to offend anyone. Later.

I too have gotten in arguments that my opinion is not what others feel is right. At that point I leave the argument there. I realized years ago there are to many good people with different opinions than mine. Their attacks on me were nothing TRUELY personal. I don't know SledPuller from anyone else, nor do I know what he said in that PM. I can only hope that what was said isn't that damaging that you can't forgive him. I know you can cool off a bit and rejoin the rest of us. You wouldn't have the passion for helping us if you didn't truely care. If you decide it isn't for you, I wish you the best in the world. Keep your Travel companion, if your ever in MN look me up in Ramsey, I'll have a cup of coffee waiting.

Bill, I enjoyed meeting you in person when you did my KDP. I recogized your down to earth attitude and common sense values and value your advise on this forum. When I have a problem and do a search I always look to your advise first. I am confident that you will use that good old common sense and reconsider your decision to leave the TDR. You just have to consider the source and let it go.
