A new one on Power Service additive.

We were at wally world over the weekend and I needed to get a jug of power service. When it came time to check out, the gal behind the counter asked my wife for ID. Said she had to be 18 to be able to buy the power service. What did the gal think, we were going to go out in the parking lot and smoke the stuff? My wife asked why she needed to be 18 and the counter gal had no clue as too why, all I could do was stand there and shake my head. :-laf

I had to do the same thing the last time I bought Power Service at Wally World. I must have had a very puzzled look on my face because the girl behind the counter said, "I dont know why either it just says i have to ask. "

mberry is right, something to do with laws about selling stuff that "kids" might 'huff'. .

It comes up on the register that they are supposed to check on your age. .

That's hilarious. I wasn't carded (I'm 28 and look younger) the other day when I walked out with 200 rounds of . 40 caliber ammo from Wal-mart. Good to see they have their priorities straight. .

Well now that really upsets me. They have never even looked twice at me for ID. HHMMMM, wonder if it is the grey hair, bald spot or big nose that gave me away. I know it could not have been my boyish good looks.

You guys think getting carded for PS is bad? Try buying a case of starting fluid! I had to break the box down and pay four times for twelve cans. :-{} They have been mandated by law not to sell more than three cans of it to any one customer. Then after leaving i went to eat supper and had an unmarked black crown vic pull me over and ask me about an hours worth of questions (while I was in the back of the cruiser :{ ). He wouldn't let me go until I finally got the chance to explain what I used it for (the pulling truck ). then he followed me EVERYWHERE I went until I got home, where he questioned me for a few minutes, when I finally got him to get out of his car and take a look at the pulling truck. SHEESH! give me a break. Now every time I go to wally world and buy PS or Starting fluid I get a black car following me around . At least he's not questioning me anymore. This is getting out of hand.

huffing power service?!? it isn't hardly volitile at all... I sniff the hell out of that stuff whenever I'm pouring it into the tank (smells GOOD ) and I never notice any buzz or anything... and I'm sensitive to stuff like that... I don't like paint fumes or permanent marker fumes or anything like that... gives me a headache.

I've gotten carded for PowerService also (I am 21, I guess I look 21) and I've also gotten out of wal-mart with pistol ammo without getting carded. Try this, next time they card you for PowerService, hand them your carry permit for ID, they won't question ya ever again

yeah i got carded last week for some powerservice @ the local wal-mart. both me and the cashier got a chuckle out of having to break out my ID for stinkin' powerservice. not really, i gotta agree with forrest i like the smell of it too!!

Wow they are worried about huffing that stuff? Wal Marts out here sell gas that is the 3rd worlds drug of choice I've never seen anyone carded buying that.



I bought some bondo a month ago and was not carded that stuff will light you up faster than anything else that store sells. I only breathe that stuff for a max of 10 minutes it's so bad, and the coming down off that high is so hard you need aspirin and or a shot of liquor.



I am glad a black car followed you over a case of starting fluid, man that is a lot either, probably enough to gas a lunch room. You are probably on the US terrorist watch list now have you tried flying lately?

Guys i hate to say it but our fuel additives are being used along with other legal and every day use chemicals to make *meth*... The county in the state neighboring me has a major problem with mobile meth labs (ASHE COUNTY NC. ) and that Crap is filtering over into my area which means bad news for drug users and abusers, now there on my turf and im not to much concerned with how they disappear... . But the reason for the carding is to keep up with how much of the additives are purchased for the above reason.

Well, they need to go check on Napa then. The last time I bought the Power Service stuff from them they didn't bat an eye and I had gotten the big jug. It might be that the counter guys have known me for years but the checker at the front is always some one new. Maybe it's the class of people that buy from Napa compared to Wally World? :-laf Yes, we all buy from Uncle Wally, but look at some of those other shoppers next time. Makes you want to think twice about taking your kids in with you and you sure don't want to leave them sitting in the car in the parking lot now.

Wyatt, that makes more sense than the huffing theory - as posted earlier, there sure seem to be better things to huff easily available, like gasoline. Again it's really funny they sell you handgun ammo with no ID'ing and they ID you for something that might be used to make crystal meth, which will certainly take a lot longer to kill you than a gun will. Oh well, who can understand Wally anyway? I only shop there when I have to.
