My truck just turned 78,000 miles today. It still has the original Michelin tires on it, and they look to be good for another 10,000 miles. Tire wear is very even. You can't tell a front tire from a rear, even at the 6,000 to 8,000 mile rotation.

The truck is stock except for gauges and e-brake, running boards and bed rail trim. The lift pump still sounds and works like it did when new. The steering is still as tight and precise as the day it was delivered. There is no slack in the steering. It gets 23+mpg at 55, 22+ at 65, and 21+ at 70. The towing mileage depends on what I'm towing of course.

I haven't even blown a light bulb!

By the way, this truck was built in the US on a Friday afternoon.

The only things changed are a windshield after a gravel truck broke it, and the serpentine belt when I finally got tired of the chirp. Goodyear Gatorback belts are the best!

OK Dennis, you've waited long enough! :)

Now comes the time to prove that; "If you can make it you can break it".

I figure that your LP is at the upper end of life-span. Now you need to over fuel, advance the timing, over boost the truck.

Then you can talk about longevity. :-laf

Kidding aside, congrat's on your MPG and trouble free ride. Some of us do like the package.

Mike

For normal driving I set the tire pressures at 60psi front and rear. When towing the 29ft travel trailer I kick the rears up to 65. With the slide in camper I go to 70 front and rear. With the camper and travel trailer I use 70 front and 80 rear.
