Just installed di-pricol gauges (EGT, Boost, T-temp) on the A-piler... ... . :(

Not all that happy with it. Top gauge is toooo close to my face, it seem ok on the freeway, but in town I have to look around the top guage when going around corners. Gauges look real cool at night though. Probably going to switch to a double gauge mount on the A-piler and try to find another location for the transmission temp guage. Any ideas out there? Don't really miss the grab handle as much as I thought I would. Added EZ, put it on level three. what a difference! :D :D

Well you got a little farther than I did,I put it up their and could not stand it!All my others had the A pillar and they were cool but this thing is way to intrusive. Think I'm going to go with the mount on top of dash or see if I can come up with something else. Don't want to sacrifice the cubby hole, already have the Jordan controller in their and like the space.

I just got done putting a 3 pog a piller on my 04, had it on about 2 weeks I guess not really sure. The first day I had it on I was driving around campus and stoped for some people to walk at the cross walk, after they left I was about to take off and this girl poped out form behind the A piller I had no idea where she came from so from then on I have been exrta carfull about loking around it, dont real mind to much kind of getting used to having to look around it.

As for another place to mount a gauge becuse I have been thing about his for a fuel presure later down the road, Im thinking about those cubby hole mounts but modify it for only one guage and keep the rest of the cubby hole.

Yes, the top gauge is kind of "in your face" I have been considering going to a two pod and relocating the temp gauge also.

I noticed the pods themselves are HUGE compared to the 2nd Gen trucks. We did Jengle's truck last week and they are way more in your face than previous yeras. If the pods were molded differently though you would mash your head into them when you get in. Hmmm maybee a heads up display would be the key on theese trucks :D

I opted not to get the A-pillar pod for my 2003 for 3 reasons. . .

--Top gauge too close to face

--Bottom gauge too close to dash

--It's too fat

What kind of paint you you guys using for either your pillar mounts or x-box? Are you getting this from the dealer, or going to an autoparts/paint store?

Dan

Got the paint to match the original color of the a piller. I got it form a dealer in Oklahoma becsue mine didnt have it and said it was out of production so he gave me a list of some dealers that had it in stock. Called them up and got it in 2 days.

This number comes right off the parts counters computer 05010128AA the name is Nutrual or Light Toupe cant remember. Hole that helps

I'm leaning towards the X-Monitor (Pyro, Boost, Fuel) mounted on the steering column. I sat in an 03 with column gauges at SEMA, very nice. I'm 6ft and the dash cluster wasn't at all obstructed. The X-Monitor looks like it has an even lower profile than std gauges, so I think it will work out pretty good.

Later I'll probably put a dual temp gauge for transmission and Diff, mounted in a single A-Pilliar. That covers just about everything I could possibly care about (except tire pressure/temperature of course  )

Geno's has them moulded in color. I have the two gauge mount and love it.

I didn't think the A-Pillar mount was going to work for me... So I went with the column mount... I think it looks great! However if you need more than two gauges it could be a problem. Take a look in my readers rigs section for some pics.

I think I will switch to the two pod. still looking for a good place for the transmission temp. Thanks for all the feed back guys!

TDR is the best! :D

Just got through putting mine in the pillar, 3 pod, fuel, EGT, and boost, I really like it. I had mine in the cubby hole at first, had to lay down in the seat to see my guages. ;)

Have you considered putting a single pod on the steering column?

I agree..... especially with the "it's too fat" part especially. The "A" pillars are huge in stock configuration... couldn't imagine it with 3 gauges installed. Got my cubby hole mount ordered up from Colorado Diesel for use with the Autometer Phantom Boost & EGT gauges.

I went with the X-Monitor and love it. :D I also could not get the paint to match and had to take A-pillar screw cap to a paint store and had it matched. Thought about painting the entire A and B-pillars taupe, but was concerned about how well the paint would hold up since I use the grab handle a lot to get in.
